Rock your world without wires with the new Skullcandy Grind headset.
Skullcandy today unveiled its new wireless lineup Grind Wireless along with the wireless version of smoking buds and Wireless Free.
Motivated by #STAYLOUD Skullcandy developed Grind wireless based on the previous generation Grind lineup which had an outstanding response and this one is with some serious mods.
Let’s talk about the design first
The headset is very lightweight and is mostly made up of high-quality plastic and metal and textured leather like material which covers up the metal made headband ,the headband is very sturdy and is a bit flexible allowing ear cups to adjust perfectly on your head. Skullcandy ensured that it doesn’t get too bulky and they did a pretty good job just 180 grams .
All the controls are located on the bottom right driver and are very simple to engage with. You can increase decrease volume , receive calls & play pause music without having to worry about taking out your phone from your pocket.
Other than nice glossy buttons it also contains a mic , a status LED , a microUSB port for charging and a 3.5mm jack the USB is used to charge the inbuilt battery that gives you juice around 12hrs of playback and the best part is if you run out of juice you can always plug in your 3.5mm cable and continue to STAYLOUD. Most important part as far as design is concerned is comfort and noise isolation, the ear cups are on ear and are made up of high-quality silicon material which won’t let you down in any way as far as comfort is concerned. Noise isolation is also good.
Overall the device is very attractive , aesthetically pleasing and well built keeping in mind the youth.
Whats under the hood ? :
Beneath that hot, glossy, plastic there is a rechargeable battery providing 12hrs of playback a Bluetooth 4.1 module which is very power efficient and has ample range. The headset consists of two 40mm drivers with neodeam magnets which drive your beat . These drivers deliver a frequency response of 20hz – 200hz and have an impedance of 32 ohms. Apart from all the sketchy stuff the sound quality is pretty good except for the high’s , they get a bit pinching but that might from content to content the base response is also good making it neither to bassy nor to treble.
The Skullcandy Grind Wireless is available exclusively at TATA Croma stores for just RS 6,499 INR at present and is expected to land other markets soon.
