Today, Xiaomi’s latest handset was made official at Global Mi Phone Premiere at New Delhi. The super-affordable smartphone will cost around INR 12,999 ($205) when it launches on April 30 on Flipkart. The pre-orders have already started.
The smartphone comes with a 5.0″ Full-HD OGS IPS display with a density of 441 ppi. The panel supports adaptive brightness technology, called Sunlight display. The dimensions of the device are 138.1mm x 69.6mm x 7.8mm, and it weighs at about 130 grams.
The camera department is let by a 13MP f/2.0 rear snapper and a 5MP f/1.8 front-facer. The rear camera is accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash.
The device is powered by the second generation Snapdragon 615 processor which has been designed entirely in India by Qualcomm, and features 4 ‘power-saving’ cores clocked at 1.1GHz, and 4 ‘performance cores’ clocked at 1.7GHz. The device is equipped with 2GB of RAM and onboard storage is 16GB. Graphics are handled by Adreno 405.
In terms of connectivity the Xiaomi Mi 4i offers dual-SIM slots with 4G support on both of them. It is powered by a 3,120 mAh battery. The device comes with Xiaomi’s own MIUI 6. It is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The device will be available in a total of five colours – white, blue, black, yellow and pink.
Along with Mi 4i, Xiaomi also brought to India the Mi Band fitness band at a price of Rs 999. The Mi Band monitors your fitness and tracks your sleep. It features a Bluetooth chip and accelerometer. The Mi Band can be powered for 30 days on one charge. It has alarm functionality too. You can even pair it to unlock your XIAOMI phone without a password.
